There are some many attractions, shows and special events going on at the four Disney theme parks, that it can be overwhelming. To narrow it down, my top picks for things you should not miss:
For babies and toddlers:
Magic Kingdom
Country Bear Jamboree (Frontierland): Younger kids especially love the life-size animated bears that sing, dance and play music in a country venue type show.
It's a A Small World (Fantasyland: The classic Disney ride featuring animated children and music from all over the globe.
Pooh's Playful Spot & Ariel's Grotto (Fanatasyland): These are themed playgrounds where your little bundles of energy can blow off some steam. Just be warned that both playground areas feature spouting fountains that kids can run through. If your kids are anything like mine, these are impossible to resist and they will get completely soaked. It can be actually soothing in the hot summer months, but not fun during cooler days. A change of clothes is always advisable.
Cinderella's Golden Carrousel (Fantasyland): A fun merry go round with pleasant music and a great view of the castle.
Mad Tea Party (Fantasyland): A fun spinning tea cup ride based on Alice in Wonderland. The individual cups allow you to control how fast you want to spin.
Dumbo The Flying Elephant (Fantasyland): Mild ride based on the classic Disney film. You can get a spectacular view of most of the park, and the little ones love it! Get there early though; it is a highly popular ride and wait times can get very long toward the afternoon, with no FastPass available.
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin (Adventureland): A similar concept to the Dumbo ride, just with a different theme. Right next to this ride is a great character greeting spot where you can meet Princess Jasmine, Aladdin and the Genie!
Fairytale Garden at Cinderella's Castle (Fantasyland): Very cute storytime with Princess Belle, featuring audience participation and the opportunity to meet Belle afterwards.
